I have been diving for a couple years and wanting to take my camera with me every time. I finally got the chance when a second hand housing for my model of Sony came up for sale. Located in Port Douglas, I made the long trek up there from Melbourne to try it out.
It's exciting to capture this world I enjoy spending time in. It is nothing like shooting on the surface, white balance and colour look so different.
Luminosity of corals can be difficult to replicate. The very tips of an Anemone, pictured right, glow with such intensity. Reds and oranges are the first wavelengths to disappear as well. I'm glad I was able to bring back these things with shooting in RAW.
We spent a day with Quicksilver Cruises.
